Cara Delevingne opened up about her romance with actress Ashley Benson. As fans know, the model confirmed their relationship for the first time back in June, after dating for one year or so.
Now, during an interview for Elle UK she was asked how love feels like for her and she shared: ‘I’m just better when I am in love. That does not have to mean with someone. It can also mean with myself. It feels incredible when you are not alone. When you are facing the world with someone else.’
Cara then explained why she and Ashley kept their romance under wraps despite rumors, months before finally confirming they were, indeed, together.
‘Because it is sacred. I get why people care this much, and I do not want to be so secretive that people think I am ashamed of anything. But I have never been in a relationship where things are so very public, or where I posted pictures of somebody else. This seemed different. We’d gotten to the point where we’d kept it a secret, or at least not wanted any attention, and now I feel like I am not going to not be proud,’ the supermodel told the news outlet.
She noted that she’s worried people can make their own assumptions.
While Cara argued that showing off their love may not mean posing at red carpet events together, her confirmation was pretty public.
Delevingne made it clear that they were a couple while accepting the Hero Award at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Gala.
She thanked Ashley for helping her love herself just when she needed that the most in her life.

Furthermore, she also sweetly said that the actress ‘showed [her] what real love is and how to accept it.’
